WOMEN’S CLUB NEWS

The Pelican Bay Women’s Club is now in the second half of our 2019 – 2020 season. What a great season we are having! Membership has risen to 100 members with so many new residents welcomed to our social and charitable group.
Our PBWC members have been very generous this year. In September, we provided school supplies for Food Brings Hope’s backpacks for needy Volusia County elementary students. At Christmas our members donated a plethora of stuffed animals, diapers, blankets and more to the Daytona Beach Police Department. The patrol officers use these items when helping children being removed from crisis situations.
We are excited to announce that our major fundraiser this year will once again be the Casino Night. Last year’s event was well attended and loads of fun. This year’s promises to be bigger and even better! Mark your calendars for Saturday, March 21st from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. in the ballroom of the Club at Pelican Bay. It will be a fun and entertaining evening with light hors d'oeuvres, cash bar, casino tables, dealers, silent auctions, raffles, and a music deejay encouraging audience participation and dancing. If you attended last year you know what a fun evening it was. The PBWC Casino Night is an event for everyone, not just our members. Come out and enjoy an entertaining evening with husbands, partners, neighbors and friends while supporting a worthy charitable organization at the same time! There will be plenty of things to enjoy even if you aren’t a gambler!
Proceeds from this event will be donated to Charlene’s Dream, a women’s boutique in Daytona Beach that is a resource center for women battling cancer. The free boutique offers camaraderie, hope and mentoring as well as prostheses, wigs and other supplies.
If you are new to Pelican Bay and would enjoy a fun time, delightful entertainment and delicious lunches with a great group of women, we would love to have you join us. The PBWC meets the 2nd Monday of each month, September through May, at The Club at Pelican Bay, 350 Pelican Bay Drive.
